We’re a busy, professional couple who looked long and hard in 2009 for the perfect getaway from the daily grind. What we found on Rock Point exceeded our wildest expectations… a place to find peace and recharge.
We were soon visited by friends and family, for long weekends or weeklong getaways, and without exception, everyone felt the same as we did about the place – it was magical. And it turns out that Rock Point has proven a perfect retreat for couples and families alike.
Our cottage experience tends to involve a lot of reading and cooking and swimming and fishing and kayaking and… well, the list goes on. Basically, all of the things we wish we had more time for at home. We’re never without something to do on “the Rock” - at least, not unless we choose…
We love to cook, so having a well-equiped kitchen is important to us – nothing worse than trying to cook a meal away from home only to find that there’s no grater, or cookie pan, or sharp knives. We decided to make sure the cottage was well appointed with the tools anyone would need to whip up a simple lunch or a gourmet dinner.
And the eat-in kitchen provides a beautiful space for a family meal or evening of board games…
We also love quiet places to read, to meditate, and to just stare at the lake, so the cottage is full of comfortable reading spots and beautiful vantage points – living room couches that over look the lake, the bunkie reading chair, or the collection of muskoka chairs up high on the deck or down on the dock.
The cottage is updated and solid, not lacking in amenities. But it’s also got the right mix of rustic charm, giving it that real cottage feel.

The main building has 3 bedrooms (2 Queen, 1 Twin/Double bunk…)
And the bunkhouse has a Queen bed and a reading chair as well as an eclectic reading collection ranging from buddhist teachings and meditational instruction to romance novels…
